Using car racing games for developing concentration in kids
In my first job I worked in a mid school where I was a computer teacher. I had to teach programming to 45 teenagers in my class. Do not think it was a cakewalk for me. Actually, it was just the opposite. The teenagers often lack concentration and scolding or punishing them does no good. I really had a harrowing time managing the pranksters and the tantrum throwing lot in the class. It was during that time my friend Robin suggested a unique idea to me.
Following his advice and after convincing the principal, I gave an exciting offer to the students. I told them that they can Play Race Car Games once a week if they finish their homework properly and concentrate in class. I also said that the best performer in the class would get a copy of a popular car racing game at the end of the semester.
This worked like magic. I was somewhat surprised to see the tantrum throwers behaving as if they were the embodiments of decency and discipline. My colleagues also wondered at my newfound capability of managing the little monsters.
